The Great Pumpkin....

It's Fall. It's official. Yesterday we went to our first Fall Festival of the year. Cute little place about a 1/2 hour from us.
Max and Karl went for a hayride and picked a couple of pumpkins while Emma and I took a stroll through a cute little gift shop. Then while Karl strolled around with Emma Max and I went through a fun corn maze....well it was fun until 1/2 way through Max no longer wanted to walk so I had to carry him on my shoulders. :)

I love fall. I am so in the mood it's ridiculous. Yesterday I was on a baking mission. I made Apple Cake AND Cinnamon-Sugar Apple Chips. Man did the house smell AMAZING! I love the smell of apples, pumpkins and cinnamon baking. It just smells warm and cozy. Looking forward to more fall activities AND fall food!

Christmas 2008....

Another holiday has come and gone...as usual we celebrated it in The Rudolph Whirlwind Fashion. We arrived in Michigan the Saturday before Christmas and I don't think we stopped until just this past Saturday when we got home. It was a hectic 2 weeks...but I am so very glad that we were able to go and see Family and most of our friends! For those that we didn't get to see we miss you dearly!

Below are a few pics of our trip...most of which will be Max since that is mostly what everyone cares to see. LOL! Enjoy....
Here is Papa Lee and Max reading the paper...
Here is Max taking a ride with his cousin Brady...this was the first time Max had really seen alot of snow. He didnt' really seem all that thrilled...

Here is is with Nana....again not too thrilled...

Here is Max and Brady again playing...Max just loved his cousin Brady...Brady on the other hand was kind of "eehhh" with Max. It was pretty funny.

Here is Max taking a bath. His Auntie Jenny (whom we now refer to Aunt ne-ne), was blowing bubbles on his face and you can clearly see he was loving it!

Here is Miss Magoo hanging out....she just loves to be up on the back of the couch....crazy dog!

Here is Max and Mommy on Christmas Eve...he just wouldn't look at the camera. There were too many things distracting him...
Here is Max with his Uncle Chris....notice how Max is telling the picture taker off - look at his finger! That kid was cracking us up!

Here is Max and Daddy on Christmas morning...Max enjoyed watching the boys open all their gifts....

Here is Max finger painting at Nana's....he enjoyed that immensely! As you can see from his fingers!
Here are the girls...Magoo on the left and Izzaboo on the right. They are pooped puppies. They had a rough 2 weeks of playing non-stop!

Just a Few Pictures...

Sorry it has taken me so long to get some pictures posted from our Christmas trip to NYC....I have been busy for the last few days visiting with our friends Carl & Teresa. That is a whole separate posting but just to appease my mom here are some Christmas pics.

This was was tooo cute not to post! This was taken at the Christmas Party at Karl's cousin's house and Max became obsessed with my beer bottle....and no I didn't give him a single drop!!! LOL!

Christmas Past...

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in a few days obviously because of Christmas. I have a million pictures of Max's first Christmas but I just haven't had time to download them as of yet. BUT I am hoping to get them done tonight. Yesterday was a blur of trying to get things unpacked and put away and I am still not done. First I have to run to the store and pick up a few things and then it's back to unpacking....

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I will try and get some of our pictures up as soon as I can!

Will The Real St. Nick Please Stand Up...

Here is the answer to my Christmas Trivia question....
"It is believed that the real St. Nicholas was born sometime around 280 A.D. in Patara, near Myra in modern-day Turkey. According to legend, his extraordinary kindness led him to give away all of his inherited wealth as he traveled the countryside helping the sick and poverty-stricken. Admiration for his philanthropy eventually grew into the legend of Santa Claus."
After I posted this I did a search of Santa Clause and so many different things came up about where the Legend originated from...I found this little bit of info:

"Countless legends (no documents exist) are told about this Patron Saint of Giving known as St. Nicholas. Within both Western and Eastern Christian Churches similar mythology, or tradition, exists. According to these legends, St. Nicholas was born in the city of Patara, and traveled to Palestine and Egypt when he was young. He was later imprisoned during persecutions of the Emperor Diocletian, but was fortunately released by the more humanitarian Emperor Constantine. He attended the first council of Nicaea in 325."

So who knows what the real answer is but it's fun learning isn't it!!

O' Christmas Tree O' Christmas Tree...

Here is a little picture of our little Christmas Tree. We tried to take it in the dark with the lights on...you can kind of get the picture but it a little fuzzy.

We also took a picture of the cool stocking that Mom-Mom made for Max...

And here is a full shot of our mantle. I love putting up Christmas decorations. I realized that those are the only decorations I have. I don't really have much for any other holiday...oh wait I take that back, I have a few Halloween ones but I didn't even put them up there year! Oh well....there will always be next year!
