Lightning, a.k.a FANTASTIC READ!

I am on to my second book selection for my book club and I am loving it! It's Lightning by Dean Koontz. I was kind of worried because some of his books, from what I have heard, are similar to Stephen King....but this is just great. It's a really good thriller. I have read 1/2 the book just today. Max took about a three hour nap this afternoon and I just plopped down on the couch and read like mad.

If anyone is looking for a good book this is a keeper!! I will let you all know when I have finished!! Stay tuned!!

The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax....

This is one of the recent book selections from my book club and I have to say that so far it's pretty interesting. It's a series of books from the 60's and it's about a older woman who finds her life fairly boring so she decides that she wants to become a CIA agent.

It's a pretty easy read and at only 190 pages I think a fairly fast read. I am only about 20 pages in but so far I am enjoying it. I am hoping to finish it fairly soon because I have two other books that I want to get started with - Lightning by Dean Koontz and Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I am a little nervous about the Dean Koontz book just because I know that he is similar to Stephen King and I have quite the imagination! The last thing that I need is to be reading some freaky book and then sit home by myself all day and worry!! We shall see how it goes! Happy Reading!

A Reading Fool...

I just finished "The Memory Keepers Daughter" this morning and it was great! I also wanted to let everyone know that as I finish my books I am going to take the link off...just so I don't end up with a million links over there. All in all it was a great book so if you are up for some emotional reading then this one's a winner!

Looking forward to the next book!! Or should I say "books"!

The Book Club...

Hi all,
It's me again and I just wanted to add that my 1st official book club meeting went well. There were only 4 of us, I guess a few people backed out at the last minute but it was fun. It was nice to get out and meet some new people and have adult conversations...I am pretty proud of myself for remembering how to do that!!

For anyone that is interested I found this book club by using Meetup.com, you can basically search for any type of topic in your area. It's really kind of cool. That is also how I found The Little Yellow Duck Club for Max and I. One of the girls in the class also belongs to a scrap booking club...not sure if I am ready for that??

Books, Books, Books...

I just recently joined a book club and I am so excited because I have my 1st meeting tonight. The book selection for this month is by Kim Edwards.

The book is called "The Memory Keepers Daughter" and so far it is pretty good. I have added a new link on the side of the blog that I will showcase each book as I am reading it. I know that I have lots of friends and family that love to read as much as I do so hopefully you all will get some enjoyment as well! Wish me luck and happy reading!
